Dr Monica Espinosa Gomez, 2023–24
Monica specializes in precision fermentation, metabolic engineering, and synthetic biology. She previously worked as a metabolic engineer in the Sydney-based start-up All G Foods and as a postdoctoral researcher at RWTH Aachen, Germany, where she focused on producing recombinant proteins in microorganisms. She has extensive experience in industrial biotechnology, being involved in different projects utilising different microorganisms, from baker’s yeast to green algae.
